Got questions? We've got answers. Continue reading below for the who, what, where, and how of Teledentistry.
What is Teledent?
Let's start with the basics, what is Teledentistry? Put simply, Teledentistry is dental care and consultation through the use of information technology. In today's world, that technology consists of computers and smartphones. Teledentistry connects patients directly with Dentists, all from the comfort of their own home. Instead of having to call an office, make an appointment, pay for new patient fees, and wait weeks or even months to see a Dentist, Teledentistry can put you in touch with a Dentist in minutes. With Teledentistry, patients are able to seek immediate treatment and immediate consultation when they need it most, no appointments required.
So then what's Dial Dental?
Dial Dental is a Teledentistry platform, built from the ground up, to put the Teledent concept into action for our patients and customers. But a platform isn't very useful without support, and Dial Dental has plenty of that. We have put together an amazing team of licensed Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Specialists available to speak with you, 24/7, 365 days a year. We have partnered with some of the largest and most talented Dental Offices across New York State, so that in the event your treatment requires an in-office visit, we provide same or next day placement with the partnered office closest to you.
How does it work?
Simple. To get started you can either reach us by phone at (833) 500-DIAL, or by using our chat function. We have Dental Specialists available 24/7, so matter what time of day or night you can seek immediate treatment. Once you've made contact with a specialist, a chart will be created that includes information like name, date of birth, and a brief medical history. This provides the Dentist who speaks with you all the relevant information they need to offer you the best treatment possible. After the chart is created you will receive a text message to your smartphone with a link to our Portal. This link is to be used by you, to take pictures of the affected area of your dental concern, as well as a picture of photo ID and an Insurance Card if you have one. After the pictures are received, one of our on-call Dentists will reach out to you to discuss and offer plans for treatment.
